Halloween might look different this year, but one thing you and your little ones can still bank on is the tasty treats! From conventional candy to DIY festive goodies, there will be plenty to snack on even if trick-or-treating is on pause. Here are a few “not so spooky” clean treats you can make this Halloween to keep the spirit alive and your sweet tooth satisfied.
COOKIE SPIDERS
(created by @laurenlashway)
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
-Emmy’s Organics Coconut Cookies (any flavor!)
-Small pretzel twists
-Vanilla icing
-Googly eyes or chocolate chips
-1 wooden skewer
HOW TO:
Take your pretzel twists and break evenly, making 6 small “legs” to place on top of your Emmy’s Organics Coconut Cookies. Take a skewer to lightly make 6 indentations where the pretzel legs will sit. Attach using a small amount of frosting. Attach eyes with a small amount of frosting as well.
MINI MONSTERS
(created by @laurenlashway)
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
-Emmy’s Organics Coconut Cookies (any flavor!)
-Vanilla icing
-Googly eyes or chocolate chips
-Misc: Sprinkles, food coloring, ribbons
-Wooden skewers (1 per monster)
HOW TO:
Carefully skewer Emmy’s Organics Coconut Cookie (works best with room temp. cookies), allowing for a long piece of the skewer to stick out from the cookie. Then melt vanilla icing for a few seconds in the microwave to make it dip-able. All natural food coloring optional (but fun!). Once at a smooth and almost liquid consistency, dunk your skewered Coconut Cookies and coat evenly in melted frosting. Let harden for a few moments and set on a tray or plate. Then apply sprinkles, googly eyes, and ribbons to add the festive spookiness!
Spooktacular Mummies
(created by @therunningcarrot)
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
-1 bag Emmy’s Organics Pumpkin Spice Coconut Cookies
-10 Joolie’s Dates
-⅓ cup peanut butter
-1 bar chocolate
-Beads or chocolate chips as eyes
HOW TO:
In a food processor blend together the dates, peanut butter, and 1/4 cup water. Mix until smooth. Flatten + shape your Pumpkin Spice Coconut Cookies into little logs then evenly spread the PB + date mixture on top. Drizzle melted chocolate over each cookie to form “mummy” lines. Add 2 little beads* or chocolate chips for eyes and enjoy! (*remove before consuming)
