What is Almond Flour?
You’ll never guess, it’s flour made from finely ground up almonds!
How is it Made?
Although the first part was pretty self explanatory, the process of making the almond flour isn’t as simple. The process begins by blanching the almonds in boiling water in order to simplify the next step which is the removal of the almond skins. The next step involves grinding and sifting the almonds until they have all transformed into a fine powder.
Why is it Healthier Than Other Flours?
There are three main reasons why almond flour is often considered healthier for you than many of its alternatives. These reasons include: Being gluten-free, almond flour is a friend to your blood sugar, and it is wonderfully nutritious!
